Data Architect – Innovior
We’re looking for someone who knows how to turn messy, scattered data into something a business can actually use. The role sits at the center of our consulting projects, working with clients who expect clarity, direction, and solutions that get delivered.
You will lead the design of modern data platforms – Snowflake, Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, AWS, or a mix of them. You’ve been in the data world long enough (10+ years) to see how architecture, engineering, and analytics all tie together. And you’re comfortable stepping into pre-sales conversations, running POCs, and helping shape new opportunities.
Key responsibilities
• Lead end-to-end data architecture across multiple client engagements
• Design modern data platforms using Snowflake, Databricks, Fabric, AWS or similar technologies
• Build scalable ingestion, modelling, and transformation layers (SQL, dbt, Lakehouse patterns, medallion, dimensional modelling)
• Own architecture artefacts: conceptual/logical/physical models, integration patterns, security design
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and solution oversight for engineering teams
• Work directly with client stakeholders to clarify requirements and guide decisions
• Support the sales team with new opportunities – discovery sessions, solutioning, estimates, and technical write-ups
• Run proof-of-concepts and prototypes to validate ideas and demonstrate feasibility
• Contribute to predictive analytics and ML-driven solutions where needed – helping shape feature pipelines, data requirements, and deployment patterns with data science teams
• Ensure the platform supports downstream ML workloads, model training, and orchestration
What you bring
• 10+ years across data engineering, architecture, analytics, or a blend of all three
• Deep hands-on expertise in at least one major cloud ecosystem (Snowflake, Databricks, Fabric, AWS)
• Strong data modelling skills across dimensional, 3NF, and emerging lakehouse patterns
• Experience working with or supporting data science teams – feature engineering, ML-ready datasets, predictive analytics projects
• Comfortable leading delivery teams and driving architecture decisions on mid-to-large projects
• Strong grasp of cloud security, networking basics, and designing for scale and cost efficiency
• Confident in consulting environments – you know how to handle ambiguity, reset expectations, and communicate clearly
• Comfortable in pre-sales: solution shaping, presenting to clients, and working with the sales team
Nice to have
• Experience with ingestion tools like Fivetran, Matillion, Informatica Cloud, or cloud-native ingestion services
• Familiarity with governance, cataloguing, lineage, and data quality tooling
• Exposure to MLOps practices or model operationalisation
• Certifications across AWS, Azure, Snowflake, Databricks, or Fabric
